Call for testers to help create eRISK Online
January 5, 2015 - We’re looking to transform our eRISK tool into an accessible online resource for calculating lifetime excess cancer risk for environmental exposures – and we need your help.
The CAREX eRISK tool currently exists in a Microsoft Access format and is designed for those interested in Canadians’ exposures to carcinogens in settings outside of work. It looks at exposures via five environmental pathways (indoor and outdoor air, indoor dust, drinking water, and food and beverages), allowing users to investigate CAREX exposure estimates and input local data to see how risk might compare in different scenarios.
We’re looking to assess the needs of current and future users of eRISK. Those who’ve tested the current Access version thus far have expressed interest in an online version and we’re currently investigating what that could look like. If you’re already using this tool or are interested in exploring it in your work, please get involved in our effort to develop eRISK Online by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
