The objective of CAREX Canada is to develop estimates of the number of Canadians exposed to known, probable and possible carcinogens in their workplace and community environments. When possible, it will identify how and where people are exposed and determine their level of exposure. These estimates will be generated using existing Canadian data sources in combination with census population estimates and the best exposure estimation procedures available.
To meet these objectives, the CAREX Canada team is undertaking a series of interlocking projects to investigate carcinogens that Canadians are exposed to in workplace and community environments. We are committed to sharing the results of our research with policy makers, researchers, and health and safety professionals.
